Permanent Protection of PG&E's Retained Property with a Conservation Easement

 

On September 4, 2015, a conservation easement was recorded to protect the Beneficial Public Values of the lands owned by PG&E at the Narrows planning unit. The conservation easement is held by the Bear Yuba Land Trust.

Final Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan - PG&E Retained Lands

At its March 12, 2014 meeting, the board adopted the Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan for the Narrows (PG&E Retained Lands) planning unit located in Nevada County, California.

The LCCP describes how the proposed transactions and related agreements conform to and fulfill all requirements of the 2003 Settlement Agreement and Stipulation.

The draft LCCP was made available for public review and comment for a 30-day period from December 18, 2013 to January 17, 2014.

Transfer of Land to the University of California

 

The donation of land at the Narrows planning unit to the University of California, and the establishment of a conservation easement held by the Bear Yuba Land Trust were finalized on January 29, 2015.

At its November 14, 2013 meeting, the board adopted the Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan for Donated Lands in the Narrows planning unit located in Yuba County, California, Directors’ meeting.

The LCCP describes how the proposed transactions and related agreements conform to and fulfill all requirements of the 2003 Settlement Agreement and Stipulation.

The draft LCCP was made available for public review and comment for a 30-day period from August 8, 2013 to September 6, 2013.

Recommendations

At its November 16, 2011 meeting, the Stewardship Council Board of Directors recommended the Regents of the University of California, Sierra Foothill Research and Extension Center as the prospective fee title donee for approximately 41 acres of land in the Narrows planning unit, located in Yuba County.

Recommendations

At its November 16, 2011 meeting, the board also recommended the Bear Yuba Land Trust as the prospective conservation easement holder on the property.

Land Stewardship Proposal

On July 8, 2011, the Stewardship Council received one land stewardship proposal from an organization interested in being considered for a donation of fee title to certain lands located within the Narrows planning unit. The University of California, Sierra Foothill Research and Extension Center, prepared and submitted a proposal and is responsible for the information contained therein. The proposal is presented as is, and the Stewardship Council does not make any assertion regarding the accuracy or completeness of the information presented, nor does the proposal necessarily reflect the views of the Stewardship Council. The Stewardship Council fully reviewed and considered the proposal before recommending the organization for donation of fee title to lands within the Narrows planning unit.

Public Information Meeting

 

The primary purpose of this meeting was to solicit public input on the development of the Land Conservation and Conveyance Plans (LCCP) to preserve and enhance the beneficial public values.
